The decision was made a month prior to my wife’s giving birth to our fifth child – a boy this time.  My wife and I decided to add another room to our house.  We already had two bedrooms for our 4 daughters.  Aside from the fact that the space in each room can only accommodate two persons, it will not be a good idea to mix our only son with the girls in the family.  Forward thinking, there may be conflicts with the decoration and personal things too.  So, to prevent that from happening, we decided a separate room for him was the best solution.

My daughter is a swimmer and she has to practice every day after school for her competitions. It’s not that I don’t support my child, but I really have to cut down our expenses for it was so sky high already. I had to think of a way to cut it down and I was thinking if she could swim in our home instead of paying so much for using the public pool in our area. I talked to her coach about it and she said that it’s okay for us to do this. Now all I have to do is find the right people to do our pool enclosure.

I asked my fellow parent officers in school if they know anything about having pools enclosed. Two parents told me that they had theirs enclosed by this swimming pool enclosures Tampa company. A Brand New Nursery to Welcome the Baby

The moment we learned about my pregnancy, we knew that our lives would be changing.  Since we have waiting long, 4 years to be exact, for this blessing to come, we wanted everything to be perfect and ready by the time the baby comes.  Since my husband is the typical excited expectant daddy, he wanted to transform the room beside ours into a nursery where we can put all the things for the baby.  He immediately contacted the home remodeling company that did our friend’s house. 

The guys there were very accommodating and they understood the excitement that we had because of the coming baby.  We wanted the work to be finished a few months before the due date so that we would have enough time to decorate it and store the other things that we would be buying for the baby.  They promised that they would be able to finish the work in the schedule that we wanted.  The work was started immediately and I really appreciated the extra efforts that they did to isolate the work area.  The nursery is now finished and thanks to the company who does remodeling Apex area, or baby will have a very beautiful room.

Too Much Daylight

I have always regretted living this house we bought. When I saw this house on the advertisement, I was impressed with the features that I eagerly paid all what I’ve saved up for five years of work just for this place. When we got here and have been living in the first two months, we discovered a big drawback. This house is fronted on the hottest side at daylight; it’s always been a problem since the blinding sun is always present at our living room. Reflecting on the mirrors, we seldom relax at that certain place in our home because of the brightness. The living room became an empty space; and what is supposed to be a family den became storage for things we wouldn’t use. Fortunately, we heard about a shop that offers good sun screens and awnings. I went there for a hope that somehow, there can be a solution for too much sun in our home.

They gave us a lot of house awning features that I was impressed! We bought new awnings that lessened the penetration of the sun through our windows. We finally get to re-fix our living room, and everyone enjoyed being there than in any part of the house. As for now, I am glad that we found a great solution for our home’s dilemma.  Buying this house wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

Confessions of a Preschool Teacher

Managing a Pre-school makes my life both busy and happy. I get to share the joy of knowing that little children learn how to read and write a little each day. Their little gestures like their proud smiles every time they have answered correctly or every after performance; their apologetic look when reprimanded; their laughter during playtime; and their little cheeks that turn red when their crushes come around, are very priceless. The way they say “teacher?” is like a timeless music in my ears. I even find happiness in their teary eyes and the way they would stop crying at the site of a lollipop or a promise of a day in the park.

As their second mother, I want to ensure their safety all the time. I don’t want to break the trust their parents gave me when they decided to enroll their children with us. I, for example, take time to check that the cafeteria is always clean, and the foods they serve are not only healthy but also palatable. I also make sure that the driver I hire for the school bus is very qualified. I also have automatic faucets installed in the hallways and toilets so that hand contact will be minimized, which will also stop the spread of diseases. Purell instant hand sanitizer dispensers are also readily available in every classroom, so that the habit of hand washing and hand sanitizing will be instilled in them at a young age. I owe this to them.

A Masterfully Planned Kitchen Turns TV

A few weeks ago, my beautiful kitchen design Clearwater crew of Italianate architecture in my newly constructed house in St. Petersburg, FL. is now gracing the folds of American home magazine. Thanks to the company that helped me construct my kitchen, the editor is now emailing me to forward my address in one of the producer of a certain home/family channel. They wanted to feature my kitchen as part of their home and kitchen living. Can you believe that!!!! 

Before the construction began, I was looking for one of a kind cabinets Clearwater crew designs so that I can have all the ideas ready. This company was referred to me by a young man from a hardware store telling me how good they are in building kitchens.  Soon after, I began talking to them about my ideal kitchen and how it will suit my taste. Honestly, I was skeptic since this is a local company and I’m pretty sure some of my designs and materials to be used may not be too familiar to them. I was surprised when they told me that those products where not of good quality and they assure me of their work.  Turns out it was all true!

Fitted furniture style was created to promote a casual and comfortable feel of Italian flair. No wonder my chosen materials where no doubt a poor taste and they would never fit in this kind of design. The result was breathtaking! All my thanks to this wonderful company!

New Replacement Windows Look Great

Our new replacement windows make our house look great. I would like to be able to have the siding replaced also but I am not sure if I can afford to have it done before next spring. I usually get a big bonus at the end of the year but this year, because of the bad economy, I will not be getting it.

My bank has always fronted me the money for whatever I thought the bonus would be, so that I could use it prior to receiving it. Now, I will have to just save a little bit of money every paycheck and hopefully I will get it all saved and have enough to have some vinyl siding contractors give me quotes and then I might be able to have the house looking the way that I think it should.

If the vinyl siding contractors can do the work for the right amount of money then I can have new landscaping put in the following year and so on. My wife and I have a ten year plan, we are going to stay in our current house for ten years and then buy a bigger house. Probably one that will also need replacement windows and new siding but with each house, we should be able to turn a bigger profit.

Treating Pests With Organic Materials Is Safer

I always thought that pest control companies were all the same but now I am finding out that I am wrong. I read an article in the paper last week about organic pest control service. I had no idea that there were companies that could treat for bugs and insects with organic products. I would have loved to have had them treat my house a few years ago. Instead, I used a company that made me leave for a week, while they fumigated. I am wondering if the organic products are not as harsh, but still get the job done.

Almost exactly a week after I read about organic pest control service, my boss was telling me that his wife thought they had a bug problem. I told him that if he wanted to have a safer pest control company come in and treat the problem, that he should call the local organic pest control services.

I was right and my boss told me that they came in, addressed the problem and treated it in less than two hours. His wife and children did not have to leave and any traces of the product s they used are not going to be harmful to humans or pets.

The Wrought Iron Storm Doors Should Hold The Dog

My whole goal was to get some new storm doors and not go overboard on their cost. I had bought storm doors before, but my dog who weighs over one hundred pounds seems to always ruin them when he jumps on them. I have tried everything to keep him off of them because the flimsy vinyl is not made to withstand that much weight.

I was telling this to the saleslady at the home improvement store as she was helping me decide on what would be my fifth storm door of the year and she made a suggestion. She told me that her brother had a similar problem until he installed wrought iron doors in his house. The wrought iron doors were made much stronger and even thought they might cost a bit more initially, they would last a lot longer.

I left the store and drove over to the company that she had suggested I check out. I found a really nice set of wrought iron doors to put up and I knew that my dog would have a hard time destroying them. I was having them delivered and installed at the end of the week. I was excited to see them hold up to my big dog.
